The 3 Best Honolulu Fishing Charters
March 22 ,2019

The island of Oahu remains one of the most underrated sportfishing destinations in North America as our turquoise waters are teeming with record-sized blue marlins, ahi (yellowfin tuna), wahoo, mahi-mahi, and many more visually-stunning species. With over a dozen fishing charters within two miles of luxurious Prince Waikiki, one of the premier hotels in Waikiki, Hawaii, selecting the right charter can be challenging. Luckily for you, we’ve hand-selected three of our favorite Honolulu fishing charters for those looking for an unforgettable deep-sea adventure.

Magic Sport Fishing

Kewalo Basin Harbor is home to several premier Honolulu fishing charters, including Magic Sport Fishing on Ala Moana Boulevard. Magic Sport Fishing is conveniently located on the south end of lively Kaka’ako, only 1.2 miles from Prince Waikiki. This world-class charter is also within walking distance of the Ala Moana Center, SALT At Our Kaka’ako, and the Pow! Wow! street art murals. Hop aboard “Magic,” their 50-foot Pacifica Sportfisher yacht, and let the professional fishing guides lead you deep into the magical Pacific Ocean. Charters last anywhere from 4-12 hours in length where you’ll have the rare opportunity to reel in record-size marlins, mahi-mahi, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, spearfish, and many more colorful beauties!

Ruckus Sportfishing

Less than 300 feet from Magic Sport Fishing rests Ruckus Sportfishing, yet another one of the best Honolulu fishing charters. Ruckus provides sunset cruises and scuba diving excursions, but their six-hour combined deep-sea fishing and snorkeling adventure is a genuinely exhilarating experience. Hit the open sea at 6 a.m. in search of delicious wahoo, ahi, mahi-mahi, or trophy blue marlins before snorkeling in some of the most beautiful locales near Waikiki. You’ll likely swim alongside sea turtles, schools of fish, and perhaps a rare octopus.

Waikiki Sport Fishing

Waikiki Sport Fishing, unlike most other Honolulu fishing charters, provides “shared” fishing adventures at extremely low prices. You can join an “introductory,” half-day, or full-day charter with several other eager anglers. Otherwise, groups and families can also embark on exclusive charters ranging from 4-8 hours. Anglers typically haul in a wide variety of fish, most commonly mahi-mahi, ono, tuna, and occasionally the mighty Pacific blue marlin.
